Getting Rockbox installed in the iPod was very easy. I'll try and get a few FLAC shows on the player later. If I get that done, and if I figure out how to change back and forth from Rockbox to Apple/iPod, I'll post the steps.

Looks like this is exactly what you need. Much easier/quicker than compressing the shows.

If you get it done before I post, let me know how it went.

SWEET!!!! thanks for the update my friend. i think i will be giving that a shot in just a little while. sounds great from your description of it!!

Dire, if you have a new Nano - Rockbox does not work. Don't attempt it.

Works fine on my 2nd gen Mini though.

Hi D&M - i got the Ipod Classic. i wonder if the same issue will effect that. maybe i will hold off on that.

thanks very much for the warning my brother!! still playing around with it (the ipod, not any other "unit")

Won't work on a Classic Dire. They are working on breaking the code though ....

I'm not sure you want to put this program on a new iPod anyway. You risk losing your warranty if something goes wrong with the player.

I put it on my old nano though, and wow! 1968-02-14 in FLAC - AT THE GYM!!

excellent point regarding the warranty!! i really appreciate the info my friend - good to know before venturing into trying it on mine (yes, i can be lazy with trying new things sometimes)
